HIMA TECH RCM respects the privacy of Protected Health Information (PHI) and complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and its implementing regulations, as applicable to our role as a business associate of healthcare providers.
We are committed to protecting PHI that we receive, create, maintain or transmit on behalf of our clients. We will not use or disclose PHI except as permitted by HIPAA, our business associate agreements with clients, or as required by law.
We use PHI only to perform services on behalf of our clients, including claims submission, payment posting, coding, credentialing, eligibility verification and denial management. We may disclose PHI to subcontractors who agree to the same restrictions, and we will disclose PHI where required by law, such as for government investigations or court orders.
